Residents asked for their views on how they perceive living in Exeter

Residents asked for their views on how they perceive living in Exeter River Exe

A major survey of residents is taking place in Exeter as part the Council’s ongoing commitment to improving engagement and insight.

The Local Government Association (LGA) Residents Survey will explore perceptions of living in Exeter and the services provided by the City Council.

Questions will explore satisfaction levels with the local area - including community identity and safety - and satisfaction levels with the Council, including how it runs services, provides value for money, its responsiveness and how it keeps residents informed.

Enventure Research will conduct the survey on behalf of the Council, both in person and by telephone, between now and the end of August. They will survey 1,100 residents aged 16-plus across the 13 wards in Exeter.

Understanding the views of residents is a key element of assessing the effectiveness of a council and the services it provides.

It allows councils to benchmark satisfaction levels against other local authorities, as the LGA Residents Survey is used by authorities throughout the country.

Council Leader Phil Bialyk said: “It is very important that residents and communities have their say on how they feel about living in Exeter, their experiences of the city and what they think of the services provided by the Council.

“The results of this survey will assist us in the future delivery of services, and I want to thank in advance anyone asked to take part for taking the time to do so.”

The results of the survey will be released by the Council later in the year.
