New Living Café at Exeter’s St Sidwell’s Point is already proving a big hit The Living Café at Exeter’s St Sidwell’s Point

Visitors to Exeter’s brand new leisure centre St Sidwell’s Point are reminded that its great new café is open to everyone – even if you’re not planning to use the pools, gym or spa.

The Living Café on the ground floor is the perfect place for people to drop in and enjoy a delicious drink and a variety of lunch options, including paninis, salads, pasta pots, wraps and sandwiches.

The speciality is a range of healthy smoothies for £3.25 and milkshakes made with thick ice cream and fresh fruit for £2.45.

Current choice of smoothie is Passion Storm, Berry Blast, Green Reviver, Acai Kick, Peachy Punch, Ginger Beats Super Greens or Coconut Crush.

There is coffee from Exe Coffee Roasters in Heavitree, and cakes and a selection of sweet treats from Exeter’s Exploding Bakery, ranging from raspberry Bakewell tart, honeycomb tiffin and thick chunky muffin to name just a few.

Simple and tasty lunch options are priced £3.95 and include vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free.

There’s even a cold beer or cider on offer from Devon’s local breweries, as well as alcohol-free options.

Tiffany Stinson, food and beverage manager for St Sidwell’s Point and the Isca Centre said: “All of our suppliers are local. For example are coffee is from Exe Roasters which is just down the road and the Exploding Bakery is in the city centre.

“People may not realise but we can be accessed by anyone, and all are welcome. We are right next to the bus station, and we are a great option if you are waiting for a bus. It is not just for leisure members – we are here for everyone.”

Staff ensure that nothing goes to waste at the café - coffee cups are made of seed paper and smoothie cups and straws are plant-based and biodegradable. Branded sports bottles and travel mugs are also made out of recycled plastic.

The Living Café is open from 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm on Saturday and 8am to 5pm on Sunday.
