More grants made available to Exeter businesses

Grants Update Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) Open now available

A grant scheme to help Exeter businesses affected by local restrictions back in December has been launched today.

Businesses which could remain open from 2 December to 4 January but were severely financially affected by the tier 2 and tier 3 restrictions can now apply for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) Open.

The Council has been working hard to get the application process up and running for this and a number of other grants.

It’s also the last chance to apply for the Christmas Support Payment for wet-led pubs. Applications close on 31 January.

On 1 December, the government announced the introduction of additional support over the festive period for wet-led pubs in areas under tier 2 or 3 restrictions. Eligible businesses receive a flat-rate grant of £1,000. The scheme closed on 29 December but applications can be received by the Council up until 31 January.

See www.exeter.gov.uk/BusinessSupportGrants/ for details of both schemes and to make an application.

Cllr Ollie Pearson, Lead Councillor for City Centre and Corporate Services, said: “These grants are vitally important to so many businesses, so please take a look at the criteria and if you’re eligible then consider making a claim.

“We are also working hard to ensure that further financial support for businesses impacted by the current national lockdown is made available soon,” he added.
