Handy recycling guide helps residents with their waste Wheel of waste

People living in Exeter can now get their hands on a handy new guide to what household items can be recycled and what cannot.

Denis the Dustcart’s Wheel of Waste shows at a glance what residents can do with their waste in the city.

Denis is the City Council’s waste and recycling champion and has his own social media platforms on Twitter and Facebook.

The Wheel of Waste has been designed as a visual guide to the key elements of Denis’s A-Z of recycling and waste, which is available to view on the City Council’s website at exeter.gov.uk/recycle

The Wheel shows how items such as paper, cardboard, plastics and cans can go in the green recycling bin, whilst items like glass bottles, textiles and cartons must be taken to recycling banks around the city.

If anyone would like a copy of the Wheel of Waste, they are requested to direct message Denis via his Denis the Dustcart page on Facebook.

A PDF copy can also be downloaded here.

Denis said: “Please share it to help the people of Exeter recycle as much of their waste as possible .”

A large-format version will make up the centrepiece of Denis’s display at the Green Phoenix Festival at Exeter Phoenix on Sunday 30 June. Visit the Festival website to find out more https://exeterphoenix.org.uk/events/green-phoenix-festival/
