Get set for free Jazz on the Quay Hothouse Combo

Jazz on the Quay returns to Exeter’s waterside this weekend with more lazy summer sounds.

This Sunday (21 July) it’s the turn of Hothouse Combo, who will step out at the Transit Shed – just down from the Custom House - from 12.30pm until 3.30pm.

Exuding a giddy blend of vintage charm and captivating rhythms, Hothouse Combo will transport you to the colorful and carefree foot-tapping era of yesteryear.

Inspired by the great musicians of the 1920s, '30s, and '40s, this upbeat, exciting 4-piece performs songs they love and create new ones in the same style!

Their passion and energy will have you struggling to sit still - and they wouldn't want you to anyway! Everyone is welcome to attend and it’s totally free of charge.

Organised by the Exeter Canal & Quay Trust and the City Council, Jazz on the Quay is a series of free, fun-filled Sunday afternoons of live music.

Running across the summer, a wide selection of talented jazz bands perform on the quayside, including Borderline Jazz Band, Wriggle Valley Jazz Band, and Riviera Ramblers. Please note, there’s no Jazz on Sunday 28 July.

Here’s the lineup for the rest of the summer:

  • 21 July: Hothouse Combo
  • 4 August: Borderline Jazz Band
  • 11 August: Wriggle Valley Jazz Band
  • 18 August: Borderline Jazz Band
  • 25 August: Riviera Ramblers

No booking is required; just bring friends, family, and a love for jazz – it is the perfect way to spend a summer Sunday.
