Summer at the Quayside Summer at the Quayside

A host of free family activities are on offer during Summer on the Quayside which starts this weekend.

Among the highlights are stunning 3D artworks created by 3D Joe and Max, artists who have travelled the globe creating their artworks for a range of clients, including Google and Disney.

They will be on the Piazza Terracina on Friday, 26 July, creating a unique salmon fishing boat with the legendary River Exe giant sturgeon swimming just below the surface. The design will later be varnished so it will last the summer, and people can “sit” in it and have their photos taken.

Summer on the Quayside has been organised by the Exeter Canal and Quay Trust and gets underway on 26 July at the Transit Shed on Exeter Quay. It runs throughout the school summer holidays.

There will be storytelling, puppetry, magic, seaside games, and flea circuses. People can write sea shanties, create artwork, and get involved in science fun for all the family.

There’s a chance to make your own clay face or flower with artist Lou Chapman, create a giant mosaic map mural, join an informal choir, and so much more.
