Families enjoy free activity day as part of Housing Week Exeter Housing Week

Families have been enjoying a day of free activities as part of Exeter Housing Week.

People of all ages dropped in for the ever-popular Wonford Housing Activity Day on Thursday 8 August.

The annual day of fun is organised by housing teams at Exeter City Council and is just one of a number of events taking place to mark Housing Week throughout Exeter.

The Wonford event was held on the playing fields at the back of the Wonford Community Centre.

Families were able to feast on free ice-cream, get sporty with a range of activities provided by FREEMOOVEMENT, have their faces painted and enjoy story time in a teepee tent.

There was also a chance top find out about Exeter’s housing services and its partner organisations.

Housing Week is a chance for the City Council to highlight the many housing services it offers for residents across Exeter. The Week is for Council tenants, leaseholders, people living in temporary accommodation, housing professionals and Exeter residents who are in need of housing advice.

On Friday (9 August) there will be pop-up housing surgeries across the city, with housing advice officers taking over parts of the Exeter Library, providing housing advice to those who are homeless or faced with homelessness.

At the same time, housing officers will be providing support to tenants and leaseholders at the Beacon Centre and at the Wonford Community Centre, with free tea and coffee being provided. People are invited to come along and have a chat.
