Exeter falls silent to remember the dead

Published: 11 November 2019

Exeter fell silent today for those who died in the two world wars and all conflicts since, with the 100th commemoration of Armistice Day.

A Service of Remembrance was held at Exeter’s Higher Cemetery, where there was a two-minute silence to remember the dead.

The Lord Mayor of Exeter, Cllr Peter Holland, laid a wreath in memory of the fallen, along with representatives of the military.

Schoolchildren from Ladysmith Junior School laid poppy crosses at each of the grave stones.
