Published: 14 August 2024

Summer at the Quayside Summer at the Quayside

Summer on the Quayside continues this week with more free family fun down on Exeter’s waterside.

The activities have been brought to the quayside by the Exeter Canal and Quay Trust.

On Wednesday (14 August) there will be music in the air, starting with Trio of Men – Songs in the Quay of… at Piazza Terracina. This is a chance to come down and help create something new, musical and magical by the water’s edge. Sessions run from 11am to 12 noon, 1pm until 2pm, and 2.30pm and 3.30pm.

At 11.30am, it’s the turn of Mums Choir Exeter. Join in with this informal choir of Exeter mums and their youngsters for a relaxed workshop and performance. Workshops are at 11.30am and 12.30pm, with a concert at 2pm, at the Transit Shed.

On Friday it’s Free Quay Fridays with Prom Prom, from 11am until 4pm at the Transit Shed. Join Uncle Tacko and friends for storytelling, puppets, magic, seaside games & flea circuses.

It all keeps going next week, with Fantastic Flags at the Quayside on Tuesday 20 August from 11am until 4pm. Fun seekers are invited to join Just Sewn Stories and Melinda Schwakhofer to design and stitch their very own nautical flag.

On Wednesday 21 August, between 11am and 4pm, it’s the turn of Exeter Doodles and the chance to join Sophie Doodles to create a giant city scape which everyone can help colour in.

Activities are in the Transit Shed unless otherwise stated. It’s all free and no booking required. Just turn up and enjoy!
