Deep Clean Team keeping weeds at bay

Special dedicated teams are out and about in the city tackling weeds and keeping Exeter looking good.
The Deep Clean Teams run by Exeter City Council are making short work of weed clearance and smartening up the city streets. The teams are working through the main routes and side streets leading into the city, focussing on areas that the mechanical sweepers can’t get to.
Two teams, one in the north and one in the south of the city, use special weed ripping machines to remove stubborn and unsightly weeds growing up through the cracks.
A blowing machine then blows the dead weeds and grime into a pile before being sucked up by an industrial vacuum cleaner.
The result is clean and weed–free streets.
