Council welcomes Blueprint to carbon neutral

Published: 7 February 2020

Cllr Rachel Sutton has welcomed the Blueprint

Exeter City Council has welcomed the publication of a document that sets out the steps needed to become a carbon neutral city by the year 2030.

Exeter City Futures CIC this week published a Blueprint for a Net Zero Exeter. The document has been produced on behalf of the City Council and highlights a list of all the things that Exeter will need to achieve to become carbon neutral by 2030.

Cllr Rachel Sutton, Lead Councillor for Climate & Culture, said: “We welcome this next important stage in the process to becoming carbon neutral and look forward to sharing the document with members of the public and key stakeholders before the Climate Summit in March.”

A number of drop-in events have been organised by local arts organisation Encounters for later in the month. The information shared at these events will provide ideas and information vital to developing the shared city roadmap to a carbon neutral Exeter, at the Net Zero Exeter Mobilisation Summit on 26 March, at Exeter City Football Club.
