Council Leader: collaboration is the key to our success in Exeter

Published: 14 July 2021

Council Leader Phil Bialyk has said the city has much to look forward to in the coming weeks with the reopening of the Riverside pool and the new Exeter Bus Station.

Speaking at the formal launch of Exeter Works, which offers independent advice on jobs, skills and training, the Leader also said the City was well placed to recover strongly from the pandemic.

He said: “We have already seen our footfall going up here in Exeter. We are working with businesses in the city centre – this is a priority for myself and the Chief Executive - to make sure that we can get Exeter back to where it was and perhaps springboard even further.”

He added: “There’s a lot to be said for Exeter at the moment. We’ve got the Riverside pool reopening on July 24 and the very next day our brand new Bus Station will be open and operational.

“Later on in the year we will see St Sidwell’s Point opening – a brand new leisure centre in the city centre which will be the best in the country, if not Europe.”
