A new Leader of the City Council will be confirmed at Annual Council on Tuesday, May 14, after Cllr Phil Bialyk became Leader Elect.

It follows a selection process by the Labour group of councillors on Saturday, May 4. Cllr Rachel Sutton was confirmed as Deputy Leader Elect.

It follows the retirement of previous Council Leader Pete Edwards.

At the Annual Council meeting the Executive, Portfolio Holders, Member Champions, Scrutiny and Committee members will also be revealed.

A new Lord Mayor will also be elected and a Deputy appointed.

Annual Council takes place at the Guildhall at 7pm on Tuesday, May 14. It will be live streamed on the Council’s Facebook page.
