Beware of bogus texts about the Covid vaccine which ask for bank details
Published: 6 January 2021
Police have issue a warning over a Covid-19 vaccine text scam designed to steal people’s bank details.
During these difficult times, it’s important that people remain vigilant against criminals using Covid-19 as a chance to target victims with fraudulent emails, calls, and texts messages.
The most recent scam involves text messages being sent to people stating they are eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine.
The texts claim to be from the NHS and include a link to a convincing-looking website where people are asked to confirm their identity by providing payment card details.
Stop and think!
