Vaccine Scam Alert Beware of bogus texts about the Covid vaccine

Police have issue a warning over a Covid-19 vaccine text scam designed to steal people’s bank details.

During these difficult times, it’s important that people remain vigilant against criminals using Covid-19 as a chance to target victims with fraudulent emails, calls, and texts messages.

The most recent scam involves text messages being sent to people stating they are eligible for the Covid-19 vaccine.

The texts claim to be from the NHS and include a link to a convincing-looking website where people are asked to confirm their identity by providing payment card details.

Stop and think!

If you receive one of these scam messages:

  • Do not respond or click on the link
  • Forward the message to 7726
  • If you have clicked and supplied your details, report it immediately to Action Fraud
